26 Oct 2007 - Last Night Of The Proms!

The Youth Band presented a "Last Night Of The Proms" concert to a capacity audience at Stalybridge Civic Hall on Friday night. It was a super concert with a super programme. Highlights of the evening were Rebecca's classy solo - "Georgia On My Mind" - it was fantastic with great support from band and percussion. The audience really enjoyed the 'prom' music and encouraged by Brian particiapted enthusiastically with flag waving and singing at full voice. Many thanks to soprano Gwen Yates for "Jerusalem" and "Rule Britannia". The audience gave the band a well deserved standing ovation at the conclusion of the concert, many demanding that we repeat the event next year. Thank you to the Rotary Club for arranging the concert and I'm sure they would be happy to plan another one for next year.
